Allegro Tax is a specialist tax advisory firm. Set up to work specifically with accountants and lawyers who don’t have their own tax department. We love getting to know each individual client. We prefer to act as part of your team to enhance the service you provide to your clients.

Founded by Sarah Gardner, Allegro Tax specialises in providing accessible and jargon-free guidance to accountancy and law firms. Trained at a top 10 London firm, Sarah gained wide experience of working with firms and client businesses both large and small. This enables us to advise clients of all sizes, from start-ups to multinational enterprises.

By using Allegro Tax, clients obtain the quality and expert knowledge of large accountancy firms in a cost-effective way. We are also accredited under the Good Business Charter, which recognises ethical and responsible business practices.

Sarah Gardner

Founder and Managing Director

Sarah is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser who trained at a top 10 London firm.

Gaining wide experience of working with client businesses both large and in the scale up phase.

Sarah has subsequently advised businesses from start up, through scale up and during exit. This enables her to advise clients of all sizes, from start-ups to multinational enterprises.

Rebecca Simpson

Tax Manager

Rebecca is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser who qualified and worked at a large London firm in the business tax department.

As well as her experience in practice, Rebecca has also run her own business for a number of years and as such has a real understanding of business issues from a client point of view.

Alex Barker

Tax Manager

Alex is a Chartered Accountant who qualified in the corporate tax department of the big four accountancy firms.

Alex subsequently went on to work for another big four firm. She also held senior, industry tax and treasury roles in listed companies.

Alex therefore understands tax issues from both the adviser and client perspective.


Hilary Bevan

VAT Consultant

Hilary has twenty years of experience working in accountancy and tax.

She joined a local accountancy firm straight after her A-Levels and qualified with them as a Chartered Certified Accountant before going on to qualify as a Chartered Tax Adviser and an Associate of the Institute of Indirect Taxation.

Hilary has a unique perspective on how a particular VAT issue will affect each business. With extensive technical knowledge built up over her years in practice, she provides VAT advice on a range of topics from land & buildings to partial exemption. 

Lisa Hepworth

Executive Assistant

Lisa is our first point of contact for clients and prospective clients, and ensures that everything at Allegro runs smoothly behind the scenes.

With a background including HR, IT, project management and hospitality Lisa can turn her hand to a wide range of business functions and enjoys the variety that her role at Allegro brings.

As well as looking after our client onboarding, diary scheduling and website, Lisa provides marketing and data analytics support.


Supporting the Environment

Having a positive impact on the environment is something that’s close to our heart here at Allegro Tax. So in order to contribute to a small piece of giving back, we’ve signed up to Ecologi and pledge to plant trees when new clients sign up to our services.

We realise that one of the best tools to tackle the climate crisis and help the environment is to plant trees. Through Ecologi we are able to do this as they have a wide range of amazing tree planting partners who responsibly plant trees on our behalf.
